This course gives you the chance to expand you diving skills and knowledge! You can take this course immediately after our Open Water course. You will complete a total of 5 dives: The Deep and Navigation dive + 3 other Adventure Dives. This course can be taken in as little as 2 days. This course does not require the amount of book work as the PADI Open water course. Its all about expanding your diving knowledge and having FUN!
All of our public courses are limited to approximately 4 divers to ensure that you get the safest/highest quality instruction and to improve your overall experience. This is compared to 8 or more students per class at other facilities.
We run our Advanced classes with two coastal dives and 3 dives on a 1-day dive trip out to the Channel Islands.
The costs for the PADI Advanced course is $595.00. That price includes your books and instructional time. The boat ticket will cost $199-$260 depending on which day of the week the boat trip is running on. If you do not own your own equipment, you can rent it from the shop.
You can also complete your Nitrox specialty instead of one of the specialty dives for an additional $250. The Enriched Air Nitrox specialty dive has its own short online instruction to complete prior to the dive. Nitrox is a different blend of Oxygen and Nitrogen which generally speaking allows you to extend your bottom time, makes repetitive dives safer, and many divers feel much more energized after a nitrox dive vs a normal air dive.
We offer a free Scuba Rental for the class (when you buy your personal gear from Dive SB; fins, mask snorkel, boots and gloves) BCD, Regulator, or Computer purchase can also substitute the personal gear purchase. You should own or purchase at least one of these item: BCD Regulator or Computer
Once you complete our PADI Open Water course we give you 1 complimentary SCUBA rental and we offer 10% off of gear purchase (Exclusions apply for Scubapro Gear) and rentals from our shop for 1 year.
All of our students are covered by our DAN Insurance policy, provided at no extra cost to you. It covers up to $25,000 in coverage for medical expenses. We have not had to use this on any of our students but we provide it as a service to you. This covers you for up to 180 days during training dives. It is then up to you to join the DAN community, which provides high level insurance to divers at a very affordable cost.
